Lost in Space creators already writing season 2

April 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

A little over a week ago, Netflix premiered its modern retelling of the classic 60s sci-fi series Lost in Space, and while the streaming service is yet to give the green light to a second season, co-creators Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have revealed that they are already hard at work planning the continuing adventures of the Robinson family.

“[The details are] pretty well worked out,” the duo tell IndieWire. “There’s obviously a deep backstory of the robot and the causality of what caused this whole world to happen, and we’ve definitely figured that part out… We are working on scripts and hoping that if we get a green light we’re ready to go. We’ve had a lot of thoughts about it, and hopefully, if everyone watches it, we’ll get to see more adventures of the Robinsons, because we do have some crazy stuff planned out that we really hope we get to film.”

Lost in Space has received mixed reviews from critics, and with Netflix’s policy of not releasing any viewing figures, it’s difficult to get an indication as to how the show is performing for the streaming giant.
