Lynda Carter has had talks about cameo appearance in Wonder Woman 2

July 19, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Although Wonder Woman 2 is yet to be officially announced, we’ve already heard that Geoff Johns and director Patty Jenkins are hard at work on the story for the sequel to this year’s DC blockbuster, and now TV’s Wonder Woman Lynda Carter has revealed that she’s had talks about making a cameo in the Amazon Princess’ next solo big screen adventure.

“Yes, we’ve talked about it, ” said Carter in an interview with People. “We were trying to get me in the first one and we couldn’t make it work with our timing. It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do. Am I open to it? Absolutely. I ADORE Patty Jenkins, and it’ll be wonderful to do. But we’ll just see how that goes.”

Carter – who starred as Diana Prince in the live-action Wonder Woman series between 1975 and 1979 – has recently made her return to the DC universe, having guest starred in Supergirl as the President of the United States.

It’s expected that Warner Bros. could make an official announcement on Wonder Woman 2 during the studio’s Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con this coming Saturday. Meanwhile, recent rumours have suggested that the sequel will be another prequel to the present day DCEU, taking place during the Cold War.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman sees Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead) and Ann Wolf.
