Marvel’s Ironheart adds RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Shea Coulée

August 6, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Shea Coulée is heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Deadline reporting that the RuPaul’s Drag Race winner is set for a mystery role in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart.

Gaining fame through their appearances RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars, Coulée has since went on to develop a successful career encompassing music and podcasting. Ironheart will mark their first major acting role.

Based on the comic of the same name, Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne (If Beale Street Could Talk) as Riri Williams, a young super-genius who invents the most sophisticated suit of armor since Tony Stark’s Iron Man. Thorne’s Riri will make their MCU debut this November in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Along with Thorne and Coulée, the cast of Ironheart is set to include Lyric Ross (This Is Us), Anthony Ramos (In the Heights), Manny Montana (Good Girls) and Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story). Chinaka Hodge (Amazing Stories, Snowpiercer) serves as head writer on Ironheart, with Sam Bailey (Brown Girls) and Angela Barnes (Mythic Quest) directing.

Ironheart is coming to Disney+ in 2023.
