Matthew Vaughn confirms that he’s had talks for Man of Steel 2

September 15, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in March of this year, a rumour emerged suggesting that Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn was in talks to direct a sequel to Man of Steel at Warner Bros., with Vaughn’s frequent collaborator Jane Goldman then seemingly confirming his interest a few months later.

Well, during an interview with HeyUGuys to promote his new film Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Vaughn has revealed that he has had some discussions with regards to Man of Steel 2, although he’s undecided as to what his next project will be.

“I am planning another Kingsman, I’ve written the treatment and some of the scenes… I don’t know what I’m going to do next but I have had chats about Superman, I love Superman. If somebody asks me to do Indiana Jones, most of the superheroes or Star Wars, the fanboy in me can’t help but be excited.”

As yet, there’s been no official word from Warner Bros. about Man of Steel 2, and with Steven Spielberg set to direct Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5, that’s off the table for a few years. However, Vaughn has been linked to Star Wars on several occasions, so perhaps there’s an Anthology movie in his future if the Superman sequel doesn’t come to fruition?
