Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry) are being linked with Craig Zobel’s dark thriller Turpentine.

Per Deadline’s report, Zobel, who is responsible for critically acclaimed shows The Penguin and Mare of Easttown, as well as feature efforts Compliance and The Hunt, will work from a 2024 Black List script by Justin Varava.
Turpentine will tell the story of a deadbeat son who hires friends to rob his own parents to pay off a bookie, with disastrous results. The film will be produced by T-Street and ShivHans Pictures.
Next up for for two-time Academy Award nominee McCarthy is Paramount+ drama Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey, in which she stars alongside Clive Owen in the true-crime story, while Storrie is coming off the back of hit ice-hockey romance Heated Rivalry, which has just been renewed for a second season at Lionsgate Play.
