Michael Douglas comments on Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man departure

June 6, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Since the announcement a fortnight ago that Edgar Wright had vacated the director’s chair on Marvel’s Ant-Man, there’s been complete radio silence from everyone involved with the project with regards to the whole situation. However, during a promotional interview for his latest film And So It Goes, Schmoes Know managed to get a few comments from Michael Douglas, who is set to play Dr. Henry ‘Hank’ Pym in the Phase Three film…

“I was very disappointed. I am a big fan of his movies. It’s a very disappointing situation. Happened very late in the game. I don’t think anybody’s quite recovered. My heart goes out to Edgar – he’s been involved with the project for a long time. But he’s talented enough that you’ll be hearing a whole lot from him and I’m sure with a little vengeance.”

Ant-Man will see Douglas starring alongside Paul Rudd (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues) as Scott Lang, while Patrick Wilson (Watchmen), Evangeline Lilly (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), Corey Stoll (House of Cards), Matt Gerald (Escape Plan) and Michael Pena (American Hustle) are also set to feature. The film is slated to go into production next month, although it currently remains without a director.
