Michael Keaton confirms discussions with Tim Burton over Beetlejuice 2

February 14, 2014 by admin

Last year, it was revealed that Tim Burton has turned his attention to the long-rumoured sequel to his 1988 breakthrough Beetlejuice, and now leading man Michael Keaton has confirmed that he’s been speaking to the director about returning to the role of the mischievous trickster and “bio-exorcist” during a promotional interview with MTV for his latest film RoboCop.

“I’ve emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff until relatively recently,” said Keaton. “I always said that [Beetlejuice] is the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another. Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away, we’ve talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.”

So Burton is keen, Keaton is keen, Winona Ryder is keen… looks like this might actually happen after all. Are you excited to see Beetlejuice back on the big screen? Or is this a couple of decades too late? Let us know your thoughts….
