Michael Pena says talks have already taken place about Ant-Man 3

January 9, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Although Marvel is keeping its Phase Four plans tightly under wraps, it seems we may be able to add a third Ant-Man movie to the previously announced Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Despite being half a year away from the release of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, actor Michael Pena has revealed that there’s already been talks about Ant-Man 3, and in fact, they took place on the very first day of filming on the sequel.

“We talked about it on the first day,” Pena told IGN. “It’s a whole different kind of club to be in, the Marvel Universe. I don’t know if they’ll use me for the third movie, I still really don’t know. It’s cool to make a little bit of a mark on that Marvel Universe and it’s kind of a cool club, they run a really cool studio.”

Pena will return as Luis in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and the actor also touched upon Luis’ relationship with Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang in the new movie: “I can’t really say because I guess they’re good buddies, they’ve always been good buddies and I think they’re remaining good buddies. I’ve got to be very vague, very general, but I guess he’s following more of the American dream and trying to better himself. He loves that universe and everybody knows Tony Stark and those guys. I guess he’s just trying to make his life better. I think that’s the best way to say it.”

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: Ant-Man and The Wasp. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.

Ant-Man & The Wasp sees Peyton Reed returning to the director’s chair and stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michael Pena (Luis), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang), Judy Greer (Maggie), Bobby Cannavale (Paxton) and T.I. (Dave), while new additions to the cast include Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
