Michael Rooker joins The Dark Tower TV series

Guardians of the Galaxy star Michael Rooker has revealed on his website that he has joined the cast of Amazon’s TV adaptation of the Stephen King fantasy epic The Dark Tower.

Details on Rooker’s role are being kept under wraps, but the actor joins the previously announced Sam Strike (Nightflyers) as Roland Deschain and Jasper Paakkonen (Vikings) as The Man in Black, along with Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones).

The Dark Tower was originally planned as a prequel to the 2017 movie, but is now a full reboot with no ties to the film. Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead) is serving as showrunner and executive producer on the thirteen-episode season.
