Michelle Yeoh set to star in Blade Runner 2099

May 7, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Academy Award winning Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh has landed a role in Prime Video‘s limited series Blade Runner 2099.

According to Deadline Yeoh has signed on to Prime Video’s sequel series, which will be set fifty years after the events of director Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049.

Following strike-related delays, production on the sequel series to Ridley Scott’s classic 1982 film recently got underway in Prague.

Shōgun filmmaker Jonathan van Tulleken is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes, which is being executive produced by Ridley Scott, with Silka Luisa (Halo) writing, showrunning, and also executive producing.

Yeoh was last seen on the small screen in Netflix series The Brothers Sun and The Witcher: Blood Origins, while her post Academy Award big-screen output has seen her star in A Haunting in Venice and lend her voice to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
