Minnie Mouse to go higher, further, faster in Marvel and Disney’s next What If? mash-up

August 23, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Marvel and Disney have announced that Minnie Mouse is stepping up to take on the mantle of one of the most iconic female superheroes of the Marvel Universe in November with the release of the one-shot comic Marvel & Disney: What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel!

Written by Disney comic regulars Steve Behling and Luca Barbieri and artist Giada Perissinotto, the comic will reimagine the origins of Carol Danvers, originally told in 1977’s Ms. Marvel #1-4, as Minnie Mouse tackles the mystery behind her new cosmic superpowers and first takes flight as Ms. Marvel into a battle against the villainous Scorpion (Peg Leg Pete).

“Steve, Luca and Giada perfectly capture the spirit of Carol Danvers’ origin, a real nostalgic treat with a Disney twist,” teases editor Mark Paniccia. “Guaranteed to be the most fun comic of the month!”
