Monkey King: Hero Is Back coming to Playstation 4 next year

August 4, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Oasis Games have announced their latest project, Monkey King: Hero Is Back, at ChinaJoy 2018.  Based on the 2015 animated movie of the same name, Monkey King: Hero Is Back will be released for the Playstation 4 early in 2019 in China and later in the year for other regions.  If you are fortunate enough to be attending the ChinaJoy 2018 event the the game is playable until the 6th August.  For a glimpse at the game watch the trailer below….

Monkey King: Hero Is Back follows the adventure of the three main characters: Monkey King, Pigsy and the child character, Liu Jiang.  As they travel on their journey they will encounter a variety of different monsters which they will need to destroy using fighting skills and magic but more importantly, teamwork.  As players follow the three heroes through the game’s epic 10 hour main storyline, they will see the relationships between them change to allow them to discover their own puzzles of their lives.

Jointly produced by Oasis Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment and intellectual property holder October Media, and developed by HexaDrive, the upcoming action game highlights the original animated Chinese character, Monkey King. With over 10 hours in the main storyline, Monkey King: Hero Is Back aims to bring the authentic Chinese spirit from the film to a global audience via a high-quality gameplay experience.
