Natalie Dormer signs up for zombie flick Patient Zero

September 25, 2014 by Gavin Logan

The Game Of Thrones star – who plays Margaery Tyrell – has signed up to star in Patient Zero, about “an unprecedented global pandemic that causes the evolution of a new species”. Austrian director Stefan Ruzowitzky (Deadfall) will take the hot seat with Mike Le (W.M.D.) writing the script and Vincent Newman (We’re The Millers) producing. Deadline broke the news but no other information regarding Dormer’s character has been released yet.

The early synopsis reads:

“An aggressive form of rabies turns the infected into predators, addicted to violence. An inexplicably gifted human survivor with the ability to speak the new mutant language leads a hunt for Patient Zero and hope for a cure.”

Since her stint on the Game of Thrones, Dormer has appeared in a number of highly successful feature films including Rush, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & 2 and Captain America: The First Avenger. She has also appeared in Elementary – the U.S television adaptation of a modern day Sherlock Holmes – as ‘The Woman’ Irene Adler. Coincidentally the news comes on the back of fellow Thrones cast members Lena Headey and Charles Dance’s involvement in highly anticipated zombie-comedy Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, loosely based on Jane Austen’s classic love story.
