Netflix shares trailer for action drama Last Samurai Standing

Netflix has shared a poster and trailer for Last Samurai Standing, the Japanese action drama series which is based on Shogo Imamura’s novel of the same name and its manga adaptation.

Set during the Meiji period, the series sees 292 warriors lured into a brutal survival game where the competitors must travel from Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto to reach Tokyo, stealing the tags of the other participants with the last man standing set claim the prize of 100 billion yen.

The cast includes Junichi Okada, Yumia Fujisaki, Kaya Kiyohara, Masahiro Higashide, Shota Sometani, Taichi Saotome, Yuya Endo, Yasushi Fuchikami, Jyo Kairi, Takayuki Yamada, Wataru Ichinose, Riho Yoshioka, Kazunari Ninomiya, Hiroshi Tamaki, and Hideaki Ito. Watch the trailer below…

In the late 19th century during the Meiji period, 292 warriors, including Shujiro Saga (Junichi Okada), gather at Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto at nightfall, lured by the promise of a huge cash prize. Each given a wooden tag, they join a vicious game in which they must steal the tags of their fellow participants and reach Tokyo to win the prize money. Under the veil of night, the temple grounds are filled with unease and the presence of bloodthirsty warriors. When the signal is given to begin the game, the combatants launch into their relentless battle for survival.

Last Samurai Standing arrives on Netflix on November 13th.
