Netflix’s Beef is eyeing Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan for season 2

June 22, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Can Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan handle the Beef? Netflix is gearing up for a second installment of the hit award-winning series and has possibly found two of its four main stars.

Beef Season 2 will reportedly star Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, who could join the previously announced Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny. Deadline notes that Isaac and Mulligan would play a significant role in this heated drama between two feuding couples.

The outlet notes that including these two actors means Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway will not star, as they had been rumored to be part of the production.

It could be some time before they begin shooting, as Oscar Isaac is currently shooting Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein movie, in which he plays Doctor Frankenstein. As for Mulligan, she is coming off an awards season where she starred in Netflix’s Bradley Cooper-directed Maestro.

Korean-American director Lee Sung Jin created the Beef miniseries for Netflix. The first season starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as Danny Cho and Amy Lau, two strangers whose involvement in a road rage incident escalates into a prolonged feud.

Interestingly enough, Netflix has not officially green-lit another season of Beef as yet, but expect official confirmation soon.
