Netflix’s Resident Evil series to premiere in July, looks to redefine the iconic horror franchise

March 18, 2022 by EJ Moreno

We’ve had the Paul W.S. Anderson franchise, there have been countless animated films, and even a recent movie reboot, but we aren’t done with Resident Evil just yet as Netflix looks to bring the video game series to another medium with an upcoming live-action television series.

Focusing on Albert Wesker and his daughter Jade Wesker, this Resident Evil Netflix series could be the most drastically new version of the franchise yet. The official synopsis for the show lets fans know we are time-jumping quite a bit, heading to the year 2036 where a New Raccoon City is headed to another disaster:

“2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”

The series stars Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, and Turlough Convery. Check out the official teaser posters here…

Resident Evil will premiere on Netflix on July 14th, 2022.
