New publisher Ziggurat Interactive to release new and classic games

March 5, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Ziggurat Interactive, a new publisher founded towards the end of 2019, has announced they will be remastering, reworking and releasing a variety of classic console and PC games for release on modern systems.  As well as releasing a lot of classic retro games from the 80s, 90s and noughties, Ziggurat Interactive will also be releasing a library of entirely new IPs.

Ziggurat Interactive have revealed the first few games they will be releasing and will include remastered versions of the following classic titles:

  • Deadly Dozen
This WWII tactical squad-based shooter originally released back in 2001 by nFusion Interactive will have players infiltrating German-occupied territory with a squad of 12 military misfits.  Players will lead their squad through six war-torn countries using their different skills and abilities to survive.
  • Super Huey
This 1985 hit developed by Cosmi puts players behind the controls of a classic chopper in four immersive modes: flight training, rescue missions, exploration and combat.  It will be up to players to protect the men on the ground and gather intel.
  • Forbidden Forest
This fantasy action game challenges players with cleansing evil out of the forest.  Armed only with 4 arrows in each level, players will need to get rid of all the monsters, mutants, wizards and dragons that are terrifying the woods.  There will be four levels of difficulty, including Innocent, Trooper, Daredevil and Crazy.

“Everyone at Ziggurat shares a passion for classic and modern games, and we’ve turned that passion into a game company that will be unlike any other,” said Wade Rosen, CEO of Ziggurat. “For each classic game we work with, we’re doing more than just reworking it –– we’re improving upon it in ways that are respectful to the original while preserving what the fans loved about it, and also boosting the ‘awesome’ of it for modern players.”

Look out for these games coming to modern platforms later this year.
