Nicolas Cage on his Superman cameo in The Flash: “That’s not what I did on the set”

November 28, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Nicolas Cage feels a bit disappointed by what he saw in The Flash.

As he spoke with Wired about his new film Dream Scenario, Cage looked back at another movie he was in this year, Andy Muschietti’s The Flash., telling the outlet that what ended up on screen for his Superman cameo was not what he shot on set.

“You said it perfectly when you said, ‘We made an agreement,'” the actor reveals to the outlet. “That is the linchpin to it. There’s an agreement and a mutual understanding and a contract that you’ve gone into knowing both sides and knowing full well what we’re getting into.”

“I’m not saying they used AI on the Superman thing. Maybe they did. I don’t know. Maybe it was just CGI, but whatever it was, that’s not what I did on the set,” adds Cage. “As much as I love [director] Andy [Muschietti] and [sister and film producer] Barbara [Muschietti]—and I do think they’re great—it’s still not what I was told to do on set.”

Nicolas Cage is currently promoting his awards season contender, Dream Scenario, which is currently playing in select cinemas ahead of a wide release on December 1st [read our ★★★★ review here].
