No Man’s Sky Beyond announced, bringing a new multiplayer experience

March 15, 2019 by Liam Waddington

No Man’s Sky has announced its next free major update, titled ‘Beyond‘. This update, described as the ‘most ambitious chapter so far’ is due to be released in Summer 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with the first component being ‘No Man’s Sky Online’.

According to Sean Murray and Hello Games, the Beyond update will bring ‘a radical new social and multiplayer experience’ that allows players from anywhere in the universe to meet, play and create together. However, Murray emphasises that this upcoming update will not establish No Man’s Sky as an MMO as it will not ‘require a subscription, won’t contain microtransactions, and will be free for all existing players.’

Watch the announcement here…

As for the other components in the Beyond update, Hello Games is keeping tight-lipped for now, but plan to ‘talk more about each component when we know we can be precise’ and they plan to ‘share more in the coming weeks’.
