No Time to Die director teases what Blofeld is up to in Bond 25

December 6, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Cary Fukunaga, the director of the new Bond film, No Time to Die, has teased what villain Blofeld has in store for 007.

The trailer for the next entry in the Bond franchise has just been released, showing that master villain Blofeld is back once more to torment James. What can he possibly do from his current position of confinement?

Well, without giving anything away, director Cary Fukunaga has teased the villain’s plan. Speaking to Empire, the director said: “Blofeld is an iconic character in all the Bond films, he’s in prison, but he certainly can’t be done yet, right? What could he be doing from there and what nefarious, sadistic things does he have planned for James Bond and the rest of the world?”

It’s clear that Blofeld has something planned for Bond outside the prison, some long-planned attack to bring down the spy. Hopefully whatever he is up to will contribute to a memorable entry in the iconic series.

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

No Time To Die is set for release in the UK on April 2nd 2020 and in the U.S. on April 8th 2020 and stars Daniel Craig (James Bond), Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear (Tanner), Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann), Ben Whishaw (Q), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) and Christoph Waltz (Blofeld), while new additions include Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel), Billy Magnussen (Velvet Buzzsaw), Dali Benssalah (A Faithful Man) and David Dencik (Top of the Lake).
