NPC dialogue system showcased in latest 7 Days to Die video

March 6, 2018 by Andrew Newton

The latest Alpha 17 development video for 7 Days to Die has been released and presenting this is not our usual friend Joel, thanks to some problems with his recording software we are treated to the dulcet tones of Prime.  This latest video (see below) is a short one but showcases perfectly the NPC dialogue system that we will get to play when Alpha 17 finally comes about.

In Alpha 17 when we press to talk to an NPC we will be greeted with the new dialogue system which will give us several options to choose from.  In the video Prime clicks to talk to a test trader and the options are:

  • Can I see your inventory? – This allows the player to peruse the items that the trader will have for sale.
  • Do you have any jobs? – This option will lead players to quests within the game such as kill sleeper zombies in a location or fetch particular items.
  • Can you give me some information? – This is the option to take for those wanting to learn more of Navezgane’s backstory and will include details on Navezgane, The Cassadores, The Duke and Noah Wright.

At this stage in Alpha 17 this dialogue system will evolve into something amazing but even how it looks at the moment is something to get excited about.  Do you guys think the same? Let me know in the comments below.
