Otherwar coming to Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5

July 31, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Take IT Studio! and developer Kantal Collective have announced that their hit PC game Otherwar will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5. This bullet hell tower defence will take players through a heavenly battle that provides a fresh twist on two classic genres.

In this mash-up of tower defence and bullet hell shooters, take the role of an angel, a divine defender summoned to protect the Gate of Heaven from the accursed Hordes of Hell. As this heavenly defender, soar above the battlefield, smiting enemies while dodging the intricate attack patterns of the demonic hordes. Use strategic planning to place fortifications to weaken the hordes, and then turn the tide of battle using the angel’s combat skills.

The enemies that players will face are varied, and nearly all will fire a unique type of attack, such as heat-seeking-esque eyeballs, slow but wide spider webs, and patterns of swirling, razor-sharp leaves. There are even enemies with special abilities, including the evil necromancer, who will begin to raise skeleton units should you leave him alive for too long.

Players will fight through 9 handcrafted, intense levels, and will have the chance to choose the towers and skills that they think will help them in battle. There is an assortment of different towers to choose from, including offensive towers, defensive towers that shoot down incoming attacks, and more specialist towers, such as slowing fields. Players will also be able to upgrade the angel’s skills and acquire new abilities between each mission.

Look out for more news on Otherwar release date coming soon.
