At the San Diego Comic-Con, Starz held a panel for its hit series Outlander with stars Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin with executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis in attendance. Together, along with a video message from Caitríona Balfe, they revealed a trailer for the eighth and final season of Outlander which teases Jamie Fraser’s fate. Watch the trailer below…
Outlander is based on the book series by Diana Gabaldon and was created by Ronald D. Moore. It follows Claire, a woman who time travelled from post-WWII Scotland to 1743 and the Jacobite Rising. After meeting and falling in love with Jamie Fraser, they began a family and moved to the American colonies where tensions between the British and Americans were steadily growing. With the later seasons showing the American Revolution beginning, Claire, Jamie and their family have had to survive while being embroiled in another historical war.
Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Duncan Lacroix, David Berry, César Domboy, Lauren Lyle, Colin McFarlane and Caitlin O’Ryan.
While fans wait for the final season of Outlander to premiere, they will soon be able to watch the upcoming prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood which will begin on August 8th.
