Owlcat Games launches Kickstarter for isometric RPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

February 5, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Owlcat Games has announced the launch of their Kickstarter campaign for their classic isometric RPG and spiritual sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, with an estimated release of June 2021 for PC via Steam and GOG.

You can check out the Kickstarter video showcasing animated cutscenes and pre-alpha gameplayer below:

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will allow players to rise to power as one of six Mythic character types: the benevolent Angel, the ravaging Demon, the powerful Lich, the cunning Trickster, the lawful Aeon, and the rebellious Azata.

During the game, players will make choices resulting in a specific Mythic Path – which will greatly impact the main narrative, grants distinct abilities and affects a character’s appearance. These Mythic Paths include the Aeon, a cosmic judge of balance that can travel to the past; the Demon, an impulsive creature on the verge of losing its self-control; and the Azata, a champion of the innocent and unstoppable force of good.

However, players have the opportunity to ignore these celestial powers and become a Legend—a mortal who doesn’t need help from any deity to inspire people and destroy the demon lords.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will also allow players to choose from the following five new classes: the Arcanist, Bloodrager, Shaman, Oracle, and Witch. Additionally, players may also play as a new race of half-undead mortals called dhampirs.

“Our Kickstarter campaign will allow our team to flesh out each Mythic Path with exclusive story branches and abilities that influence the game world,” says Alexander Mishulin, Creative Director of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. “It will also allow us to produce more content like new classes, races, and companions.”
