Ozzy Osbourne may make a cameo in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot

August 10, 2015 by Justin Cook

Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne may be joining Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd on a list of performers set to make a cameo in next year’s Ghostbusters reboot.

According to the Boston Herald, director Paul Feig was shooting a concert scene in Boston, Massachusetts at the Citi Wang Theatre, and Osbourne headlined the heavy metal concert in the scene.

Outside the theatre, which was renamed the Stonebrook Theatre for the shoot, posters were reportedly hung up promoting a “Rock Revenge Fest Featuring Ozzy Osbourne” for a “12 Hour Marathon of Metal.”

Billboard also reported that a casting call was released for the scene, asking for people to play audience members at a “heavy metal concert.”

It’s entirely possible that the concert is a set piece for a giant ghost attack in Ghostbusters, but for now it’s unknown how it will fit into the film’s plot.

Although Osbourne doesn’t have a ton of film experience, he did show up as himself in Adam Sandler’s Little Nicky and lent his voice to a character in 2011’s Gnomeo & Juliet.

Ghostbusters is set for release on July 15th, 2016 and will be directed by Paul Feig (Spy) with a cast that includes Kristin Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat), Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Andy Garcia (The Godfather: Part III), Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire), Matt Walsh (Veep), Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live) and Neil Casey (Saturday Night Live).
