Pedro Pascal and Lupita Nyong’o star in beautiful first trailer for The Wild Robot

Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation has unveiled the gorgeous first trailer for their animated adaptation of Peter Brown’s beloved, award-winning novel, The Wild Robot. 

Written and directed by three-time Academy Award nominee Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon), The Wild Robot stars Lupita Nyong’o (Us) as robot Roz; Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as fox Fink; Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) as opossum Pinktail; Bill Nighy (Love Actually) as goose Longneck; Kit Connor (Rocketman) as gosling Brightbill and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Vontra, a robot that will intersect with Roz’s life on the island.

The film also features the vocal talents of Mark Hamill (The Boy and the Heron), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows) and Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible). Check out the poster and trailer below…

From DreamWorks Animation comes a new adaptation of a literary sensation, Peter Brown’s beloved, award-winning, #1 New York Times bestseller, The Wild Robot. The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

The Wild Robot is in cinemas from September 20th, 2024.
