Queen Latifah and Brett Matthews rebooting Scream: The TV Series for MTV

April 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in March it was reported that MTV was looking to reboot Scream: The TV Series for its third season, and now Deadline has revealed details of the creative team brought on board for the task.

According to the site, Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural) has signed on as showrunner – the third in three seasons – and will executive produce alongside Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere and Yaneley Arty of Flavour Unit Entertainment.

The second season of Scream averaged just 377,000 viewers in Live+same day ratings, half that of the first season, prompting MTV to shake up the show for this shortened third season of just six episodes.
