Quentin Tarantino taking The Hateful Eight to Comic-Con

June 29, 2015 by William Fanelli

As if there weren’t already an overwhelming number of amazing TV show and movie previews, cast panels and Q&As at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, it has just been announced that The Weinstein Co. has now added a panel for the highly anticipated revenge western The Hateful Eight. Attendees of Comic-Con International have yet another reason to get excited as the film’s writer-director Quentin Tarantino and some yet-to-be determined cast members are also expected to make appearances.

According to Variety, the panel will be moderated by Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick and will take place on Saturday, July 11 at 1:30 p.m. in Hall H. Tarantino will deliver fans an exclusive look at his forthcoming film, after which he will take part in a Q&A session with the cast, where they will discuss the film’s production, its upcoming roadshow release and the film’s 70mm format.

Other exciting panels at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego are the Seth Meyers-moderated Game of Thrones panel with cast members Alfie Allen, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and more, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan and “surprise guests”, and Warner Bros.’ big DC Cinematic Universe panel featuring Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League.

There are also panels with casts of The Walking Dead and its spinoff Fear The Walking Dead, Ash vs Evil Dead and The Last Man on Earth. Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Seth MacFarlane will be on hand for a Q&A on Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and Denis Leary, Elizabeth Gillies, Elaine Hendrix, John Corbett, Robert Kelly and more will be showing face for a TV block of their upcoming FX comedy Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Needless to say, Tarantino and friends will only add to the insanity.

The Hateful Eight, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Bruce Dern, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen, is set to hit theaters in 70mm in limited release Christmas Day, followed by a two-week roadshow leading up to the January 8, 2016 release.
