Rare Collection 1 to bring retro classics to the Evercade

August 5, 2025 by Andrew Newton

The lineup for Evercade’s ever-expanding catalogue of games is set to increase this November with the arrival of a carefully curated collection of classic games from one of gaming’s most beloved developers, Rare.  The Rare Collection 1 will bring 12 classic titles from the days of the old 8-bit home computers and consoles.  Watch the new trailer below….

Celebrating 40 year of the developer Rare, the Rare Collection 1 shows off 12 legendary titles ranging from their early days on computers and consoles to the creativity and technical innovation they expressed on handhelds and arcades.

This collection provides a wide variety of gameplay styles and there’s certainly set to be a game to suit every taste, from high-speed racing and wild west shootouts to action-packed platformers.

The titles included in this collection are:

  • Atic Atac (Spectrum)
  • Gunfright (Spectrum)
  • Jetpac (Spectrum)
  • Knight Lore (Spectrum)
  • Lunar Jetman (Spectrum)
  • Sabre Wulf (Spectrum)
  • Underwurlde (C64)
  • Cobra Triangle (8-bit console)
  • R.C. Pro-Am (8-bit console)
  • Battletoads (8-bit console)
  • Conker’s Pocket Tales (Handheld)
  • Battletoads Arcade (Arcade)

The Rare Collection 1 will also bring the much-requested Spectrum into the system’s emulation capacity, great news for all those Speccy fans who feel they’ve been overlooked.

This cartridge will be part of the Evercade’s red-coloured home console line (and numbered 47), but thanks to the variety of systems included, it will have a reversible cover, allowing collectors to pair it with the blue-coloured Home Computer line.

Rare Collection 1 will be arriving for the Evercade this November and will be available to pre-order on 30th September.
