Ray Fisher discusses Zack Snyder’s original plans for Cyborg pre-Justice League exit

November 1, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Although he dismissed speculation back in August that he was no longer attached to the role, Justice League star Ray Fisher recently admitted that he isn’t sure that the Cyborg solo movie will ever happen, and with a Justice League sequel on hold (and unlikely), and the character set to make the jump to the DC Universe streaming service for the live-action Doom Patrol series, it’s fair to say that the big screen future of Victor Stone is very much up in the air at the moment.

During an appearance at New Jersey’s Heroes and Villains Fan Fest, Fisher reiterated that he’s unsure of Warner and DC Films’ plans for Cyborg, although he did go on to reveal that original Justice League director Zack Snyder had a clear vision for the character and where he wanted to take him.

“[What] I will say is Zack had very specific plans for Cyborg, and for his trajectory. And Zack probably shot enough footage in the first [Justice League] to make like two movies out of. He definitely had a whole, I believe, a trilogy in mind, with respect to Justice League. And if his vision had sort of come to fruition, Cyborg would have probably been one of, if not the most powerful, metahuman in the entire canon, in the film universe. And that’s just one of the crazy things about Zack, is that he can take someone who’s such a newcomer and evolve their powers to the point where, you know, Cyborg is like ‘S tier.'”

Are you interested in seeing more of Cyborg’s story, or do you think Justice League will prove to be the first and only time we see the character in the DCEU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League reunites Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera and Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf.
