Ready Or Not’s Samara Weaving to headline action-horror pic Azrael

September 28, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Following Ready or Not, Guns Akimbo, and Scream 6, Samara Weaving is carving out quite the niche as the action-horror heroine, and she’s adding to it by signing on to star in potential franchise starter Azrael.

Deadline reports that The Haunting of Bly Manor‘s Evan Katz is onboard as director, and that he will work from a script by You’re Next writer Simon Barrett.

As of yet there are no details on the story, but as with most things these days the producers are approaching Azrael with the intention of turning it into a franchise. Shooting will get underway in Estonia this October.

Next up for Weaving is Damien Chazelle’s riotous ode-to-Hollywood Babylon, before she reunites with Ready or Not‘s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett for Scream 6.
