Crow Country delivers retro-inspired survival horror with launch trailer

May 11, 2024 by Andrew Newton

SFB Games’ highly anticipated survival horror Crow Country is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5 and PC via Steam. Inspired by the games from the classic Playstation 1 era, Crow Country will whisk players back to 1990 and into the abandoned Crow Country Theme Park.

In Crow Country, take the role of Mara Forest and set out on a journey through the rusted gates of Crow Country theme park. Encounter horrors, untangle puzzles and challenges and solve the mystery of why the previous owner Edward Crow closed his famed amusement park and how he vanished.

Armed only with a pistol, Mara must find her way through the eerie pathways, explore the disused attractions and survive against the mysterious monsters that stalk the park. Players will need to manage her limited resources, hunt out clues and meet a variety of curious characters, all while enjoying a handcrafted, rich atmospheric game world with late ’90s pre-rendered style graphics.

For those who feel too scared by the monsters and inherent danger but still wish to solve the mystery, the game provides an Exploration Mode that turns off the enemies, combat and danger while still maintaining the full story.  For those who want to have a more nostalgic experience, there is even an option to play using ‘Tank Controls’.

Adam Vian, Creative Director at SFB Games, said: “It’s finally here! This project has been a real labour of love for us, so we’re beyond excited to finally let people enjoy all that Crow Country has to offer. Personally, I’m so curious to see how it goes… I want to know which puzzles you enjoyed, which moments scared you, what rank you get, which bonuses you unlock – I think I’ll be glued to YouTube and Twitch for a while…”

Crow Country is available now on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam.
