Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden has signed on to appear in the Amazon sci-fi pilot Strange New Things, an adaptation of Michel Faber’s The Book of Strange New Things, which is being directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) from a script by Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies).
Strange New Things will follow a priest named Peter, played by Madden, “who is sent into space to help found a new colony but what he ends up discovering not only puts his faith to the test but life as we know it.”
Following his role as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones, Madden has appeared in several films, including Cinderella and Bastille Day, and will return to the small screen later this year alongside Dustin Hoffman in the eight-part drama Medici: Masters of Florence.
