November 23, 2021 by Ricky Church

Ridley Scott has scheduled his next film Kitbag, a historical biopic on the French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, for a January 2022 production start date.

The film will reunite him with his Gladiator and The Last Duel stars Joaquin Phoenix and Jodie Comer as Napoleon and his wife Josephine. He described the film to BBC as “a monster” of a production.

Kitbag will offer “a look at Napoleon’s origins and swift, ruthless climb to emperor status, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine.”
