Rob Zombie’s The Munsters comes to Netflix this fall

July 19, 2022 by EJ Moreno

“Wacky monster fans unite,” declares Rob Zombie. This post comes after the news that Zombie’s The Munsters will debut on Netflix this fall.

What makes this so delighting for horror fans is this film will debut at the same time as Wednesday, Tim Burton’s Addams Family spin-off, premieres on Netflix as well.

“This fall we are gonna spook out like it’s 1964!” Zombie posted to his Instagram. “Yep, The Munsters and The Addams Family are returning to the boob tube at the same time courtesy of Netflix. It’s been 58 years since this clash of the titans first happened. Perfect entertainment for your pumpkin carving party.”

The Munsters will be released by Universal 1440 Entertainment, which is the direct-to-video label for Universal Pictures. Yet, the film will not go to Peacock as many originally expected. Little is known about why this decision was made, but fans of the iconic horror families will be excited to see The Munsters and The Addams Family finding a new home on Netflix.

Rob Zombie’s The Munsters looks to capture the tone of the original 1964 CBS television series while twisting the story to follow the love story of Herman and Lily. The first trailer for the film made a splash on the internet; some fans love its pitch-perfect aesthetic to others lambasted the choices made. Either way, fans will be able to see Rob Zombie’s first PG-rated film on Netflix this fall.
