Robert Downey Jr. to play Leonardo da Vinci in Assassin’s Creed?

According to rumours, Robert Downey Jr. may have joined the cast of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie, with Moviepilot reporting that the Iron Man star is set to play Leonardo da Vinci in the big screen adaptation of the bestselling Ubisoft video game series.

Assassin’s Creed has Michael Fassbender attached to co-produce, as well as appearing in the lead role. Although an official announcement on a director is yet to be made, it is expected that the film will see Fassbender reuniting with Justin Kurzel, who helmed the upcoming adaptation of Macbeth.
