Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland unveils launch trailer ahead of September release

August 30, 2024 by Andrew Newton

The MIX Games and developer WALLRIDE have announced they will be releasing Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland on Playstation 4/5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 10th September. A new launch date trailer (see below) provides a peek at some of the adventures the toddler gang of the beloved ‘90s Nickelodeon will be getting up to.

Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is a retro-inspired puzzle-platformer that will have players guide Tommy, Chuckie and the twins Phil and Lil through a make-believe world that has been inspired by back garden jungles, sandbox deserts, spooky attics and other fanciful places around the Rugrat’s home.  As players toddle their way through these areas they’ll meet plenty of familiar faces from the cartoon, including Spike the dog, Reptar the dinosaur and Cynthia the doll.

Players will guide the Rugrats through six stages reminiscent of the classic NES era and solve the challenges and obstacles that stand in their way. Players will need to dodge enemies, solve puzzles and engage in high-speed chases.  Plus there are plenty of things to collect for those who like the thrill of the search.

Switch between the four courageous toddlers and use each of their distinct abilities and playstyles to explore iconic locations from the cartoon, including the Ice Cream Factory, Haunted House and Jungle, and topple big bosses.

Throughout the adventure, players will be able to switch between two distinct art styles: the stunning HD hand-drawn animation of current gen’ consoles or the retro-8 bit visuals.  Whichever the preferred style, players will be able to enjoy the game solo, with friends or even with younger fans in local co-op.

Look out for Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland arriving digitally on PC and consoles on 10th September.
