Rumour: Justice League home-entertainment release to feature an extended cut?

January 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Despite the best efforts of fans, it seems that a Zack Snyder Director’s Cut of Justice League is out of the question (for the time being, at least), but it seems we may be getting an extended version of the DC superhero ensemble when it hits home video.

A pre-order listing on Amazon Germany has included a running time of 135 minutes – 15 minutes longer than November’s theatrical edition. Now of course, this could well be a mistake on Amazon’s part, particularly as the UK listing states 120 minutes.

However, it should be noted that Warner Bros. did produce extended cuts of both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad for their home-entertainment releases, and one would have to assume there’s more than enough Justice League footage on the cutting room floor to add a further 15 minutes.

Reports have suggested that Justice League will hit Blu-ray and DVD in March, so hopefully we’ll get some official news from Warner Bros. in the very near future.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League reunites Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera and Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf.
