Rumour: Lady Gaga turned down DC’s Birds of Prey role

August 11, 2018 by Gary Collinson

The Birds of Prey rumour mill has been running wild these past few weeks after Margot Robbie revealed that filming on the DC girl gang movie is expected to begin this coming January.

We’ve had alleged plot details, casting shortlists, rumours on the villain, and now comes word from Twitter user @DanielRPK (who has provided some genuine DC intel in the past) that Lady Gaga was offered the role of either Huntress or Black Canary in the movie some three months ago, but decided to pass on the opportunity.

Meanwhile, he also claims that young Andi Mack star Peyton Elizabeth Lee is up for the role of Cassandra Cain, who will prove pivotal to the story if rumoured plot details are to be believed.

It’s certainly possible that Lee is on DC Films’ radar, given that her Andi Mack co-star Asher Angel is starring in next year’s Shazam!, but as always we’d advise taking these rumours with a pinch of salt until we get some official confirmation.
