Rumour: Wolverine 3 villains reportedly revealed

May 25, 2016 by Gary Collinson

With filming on Wolverine 3 getting underway, Nerdist has posted a report which claims to reveal details of the villains that Hugh Jackman’s Logan will be squaring off against in his X-Men swansong.

According to the report, Boyd Holbrook’s as-yet-unrevealed villain will be an original character, described as the “intense head of security for a global enterprise”. However, the site also goes on to claim that the film will feature The Reavers, who in the comic books are a team of criminal cyborgs who are dedicated to the destruction of the X-Men, and in particular the adamantium-clawed Wolverine.

Meanwhile, Coming Soon is also claiming that Weapon X will play a significant role as the primary antagonists, and speculates that they could be working with the Reavers “in an effort to stop or capture Wolverine as well as the young clone of him, X-23, who will also be along for the film’s road trip.”

Wolverine 3 is being helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold and will see Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by Patrick Stewart as Professor X, along with new additions Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Elise Neal.

Wolverine 3 is set for release on March 3rd, 2017.
