Rumoured plot and character details for Transformers: The Last Knight

June 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

With cameras rolling on Transformers: The Last Knight, the folks at Joblo are claiming to have the inside scoop on the plot for the fifth entry in Michael Bay’s blockbuster franchise. Now, these are rumours, but if you want to avoid any potential spoilers, you should maybe stop reading now.

So, according to the site, the plot will see Optimus Prime discovering that Cybertron is now a dead planet, which he is somehow responsible for. In order to revive the planet, he needs to find an artifact on Earth with ties to British mythology.

Enter Merlin, the wizard of Arthurian legend, who was apparently granted the power of magic by a Transformer, which ties in to said artifact (which the report speculates may be Excalibur, the legendary sword of King Arthur).

The report also goes on to state that Optimus will be joined by Bumblebee, Hound, Crosshairs and Drift, along with the Dinobots, and new additions the ‘Mini-Dinobots’. Other new Transformers include the English-accented Cogman (an Aston Martin) and Squeaks (a Vespa), as well as ‘The Creator’, who is said to have ties to the origins of the Robots in Disguise.

Transformers: The Last Knight reunites Michael Bay with Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg, while Josh Duhamel is also reprising his role as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox from the first three movies and Peter Cullen will once again voice Autobot leader Optimus Prime. New additions to the cast include Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School), Jerrod Carmichael (Bad Neighbours) and Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World).
