Ryan Phillippe, Emile Hirsch and Mena Suvari are Prey in trailer for survival thriller

February 16, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

Vertical has released a poster and trailer for writer-director Mukunda Michael Dweil’s survival thriller Prey.

The film stars Ryan Phillippe and Mena Suvari as a couple forced to flee their missionary post after being threatened by extremist militants, and seek passage on a corrupt smuggler’s (Emile Hirsch) rickety plane, but when the aircraft crashes lands in the middle of an animal preserve they find themselves fighting for survival against both man and beast. Watch the trailer below…

After an extremist militant group threatens their lives, a young couple (Ryan Phillippe and Mena Suvari) is forced to flee their Christian missionary post in the Kalahari Desert. After being granted passage aboard a rickety plane, piloted by a corrupt smuggler (Emile Hirsch), their escape to safety is nearly in reach. But when their aircraft loses power and crash lands, they discover a bigger threat awaits them as they find themselves stranded in the middle of an animal preserve populated by maneaters — lions, leopards, and hyenas. Injured, frightened, and being tracked by the extremists, this ragtag group of passengers must fight for survival from both man and beast where only the strong will survive.

Joining Ryan Phillippe, Mena Suvari, and Emile Hirsch in the cast are Dylan Flashner, Tristan Thompson, Michaela Sasner, and Jeremy Tardy.

Prey arrives in cinemas and On Demand on March 15th.
