Ryan Reynolds reportedly pitched a Deadpool Kills Fox’s Marvel Universe movie to Marvel Studios

June 28, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Although Ryan Reynolds has said on numerous occasions that Deadpool 3 remains in development, we’re yet to get any kind of official word from Disney and Marvel as to the future of his Merc with a Mouth following the Mouse House’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

It’s expected that the X-Men and Fantastic Four will be rebooted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming years, although Deadpool may prove the exception to the rule given the critical and commercial success of the Reynolds-led movies.

However, according to a new rumour, Reynolds wanted to use Deadpool 3 to bring the curtain down on Fox’s Marvel franchise by taking inspiration from the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe comic book series, and with his 6 Underground director Michael Bay at the helm:

https://twitter.com/WardellRoger/status/1274684060422623235?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1274684060422623235%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgeektyrant.com%2Fnews%2Fryan-reynolds-reportedly-pitched-a-deadpool-vs-the-marvel-universe-movie

It’s worth noting that Roger Wardell has proven to been very reliable in the past, having dropped some pretty huge Avengers: Endgame spoilers months before the film’s release, but of course even if this rumour is true, there’s nothing to say that Marvel Studios opted to move ahead with the pitch.

True or not, Deadpool Kills Fox’s Marvel Universe movie is an insanely good idea that’s brimming with potential to simultaneously pay tribute to and poke fun at Fox’s long-running franchise. And, dare we say it… perhaps even give Reynolds the showdown against Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine that he’s been pushing for the past few years?
