Samara Weaving is “all in” for Ready or Not 2

September 22, 2024 by Ricky Church

Samara Weaving may soon return to her breakout role as Grace Le Domas for a potential Ready or Not 2 and says she is “all in” for another round of gruesome survival horror.

Released in 2019, Ready or Not followed Weaving’s Grace getting married and partakes in her husband’s family tradition in welcoming new family members by playing a random game on their wedding night. It quickly takes a turn for the worse when the game chosen is ‘hide and seek’, beginning a night where the family hunts down Grace to killer her in order to fulfill an old family pact with the devil. Grace has until dawn to survive being hunted by her in-laws and begins hunting them in turn.

Ready or Not was directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the duo known as Radio Silence and served as their own breakout directorial film. Radio Silence went on to film 2022’s Scream and it’s sequel Scream IV with Weaving making a cameo in the opening sequence.

In an interview with ComicBook, Weaving said “I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in. I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

Ready or Not became a hit both critically and financially by earning $57.6 million off a $6 million budget. Radio Silence spoke of a potential sequel earlier this year by saying the script is “an absolute fucking banger of a sequel” with Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021) director Adam Robitel rumoured to direct it.
