Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal are losing themselves in the latest trailer for Foe

October 4, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

MGM Studios has dropped a new teaser trailer for Lion director Garth Davis’ latest film Foe, an unsettling science fiction drama set in a dystopian near future that hits U.S. theatres this Friday and plays at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival.

Based on Ian Reid’s novel of the same name, the Foe stars Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal as Hen and Junior, a married couple who find their quiet life on a secluded farm thrown into turmoil which a mysterious stranger (Aaron Pierre) shows up on their land with a startling proposal. Check out the teaser below…

Hen and Junior farm a secluded piece of land that has been in Junior’s family for generations, but their quiet life is thrown into turmoil when an uninvited stranger (Aaron Pierre) shows up at their door with a startling proposal. Foe’s mesmerizing imagery and persistent questions about the nature of humanity (and artificial humanity) bring the not-too-distant future to luminous life.
