Has Scott Adkins auditioned for The Dark Knight in Superman vs Batman?

August 9, 2013 by admin

There’s been an absolute tonne of names banded about these last couple of weeks for the role of The Dark Knight in Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel sequel Superman vs. Batman, and one of those who seemed to find some support online was Scott Adkins, the British martial artist and star of films such as Unleashed, The Bourne Ultimatum, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning and The Expendables 2.

Well, according to Adkins’ official Facebook page, not only is he on Warner’s radar, but he’s already auditioned for the coveted role: “Some BIG news fans!! Warner Brothers have approached Scott Adkins to audition to be the new BATMAN & he has already auditioned for the role. Fans have created a page in support of this —-> https://www.facebook.com/adkinsforbatman.” So, does this mean we could see another British actor be set to succeed Christian Bale under the cape and cowl and link up with fellow Brit Henry Cavill for Superman vs. Batman? I guess time will tell…

Superman vs. Batman will reunite Man of Steel director Zack Snyder, screenwriter David S. Goyer and stars Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White). Rumoured candidates for the role of Batman include Josh Brolin (Oldboy), Ryan Gosling (Only God Forgives), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Max Martini (Pacific Rim), Matthew Goode (Watchmen), Josh Duhamel (Transformers), Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), Gerard Butler (300), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Brad Pitt (World War Z), Ben Affleck (Argo), Jim Caviezel (Person of Interest) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), while Mark Strong (Green Lantern) has recently teased the possibility of him joining the film as Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luthor.
