Shudder has shared a trailer for Smothered, a modern take of the Indonesian folktale of Malin Kundang.
Directed by Kevin Rahardjo and Rafki Hidayat, the folk horror centres on Alif, a man suffering from fractured memories following an accident, who becomes suspicious of the intentions of a mysterious elderly woman who arrives at his home claiming to be his mother.
The cast includes Rio Dewanto, Faradina Mufti, Vonny Anggraini, Jordan Omar, Sulthan Hamonangan, Gambit Saifullah, Nova Eliza, and Tony Merle. Watch the trailer below…
