Sigourney Weaver joins Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy in The Gorge

March 4, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from returning to the world of Pandora for Avatar: The Way of Water, Sigourney Weaver has now signed on to the cast of The Gorge, the new film from director Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange, The Black Phone).

Weaver joins the previously announced Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Last Night in Soho) in the film, which has been scripted by Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War). Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is described as “a high-action, genre-bending love story.”

Along with Avatar: The Way of Water, Weaver had a busy 2022 with Call Jane and Master Gardener. She’s also got Avatar 3 in the can, and is scheduled to return to Pandora alongside James Cameron for Avatar 4 and Avatar 5. Next up however is Amazon’s drama series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, which is expected to premiere later this year.

The Gorge is being produced by Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, Sherryl Clark of Crooked Highway and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger of Skydance for Apple Original Films.
