Sony now eyeing Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs biopic

November 4, 2014 by James Garcia

A wrench was thrown into Sony’s upcoming Steve Jobs biopic from director Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) and Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The Newsroom) when Christian Bale, who had been tapped to play the late Apple co-founder, dropped out of the project.

Now, according to Deadline, Sony has set their sights on another acclaimed rising-star to take on the role: Michael Fassbender. The site does admit that they “don’t want to get carried away” about Fassbender’s name being added to the film, but claim that “it does look like space can be made in Fassbender’s X-Men schedule” to accommodate the film, which the studio hopes to get into production this winter.

Tell us, do you think Michael Fassbender would be a good choice to play Steve Jobs? Let us know in the comments below…
