Christian Bale exits Steve Jobs biopic

November 3, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Just when it looked like the cast of Danny Boyle’s (Slumdog Millionnaire) Steve Jobs biopic was coming together, it has now been reported that Christian Bale (American Hustle) has “baled” on portraying the Apple co-founder.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bale has decided – after much deliberation – that he isn’t right for the part, and has pulled out of contention. Bale becomes the second actor to pass on the lead in the project after Leonardo DiCaprio.

British filmmaker Boyle is currently casting the film, with Seth Rogen (This Is the End) in talks for the part of Steve Wozniak, and Jessica Chastain (Interstellar) also rumoured to be under consideration for a role.

Are you disappointed that we won’t get to see Christian Bale as Steve Jobs?
